Gunite and Concrete Pool Builders in California

Gunite and shotcrete pools are built by spraying concrete over a steel rebar cage to form the shell, which is then finished with plaster, pebble or tile. The shape is limited only by the design and the lot, which is why most fully custom pools, spas and ledges are built this way.

The concrete needs time to cure before the interior finish goes in, so ask any builder for a written schedule that shows permit time and cure time separately. In California, pools are built under the C-53 swimming pool license, and the Contractors State License Board lets you check a license at cslb.ca.gov. The builders below state gunite or concrete pool work on their own websites. Check the drawing, the materials and the equipment list in each bid before you compare totals.
