Pool Water and Fire Features in California

Water features and fire features turn a pool into a backyard centerpiece. Water features include waterfalls, fountains, sheer descents and grottos. Fire features include fire pits and fire bowls. Both add equipment, plumbing or gas lines to the design, so they belong in the drawing and the written scope. Many pool builders offer both.

Ask what powers each feature, who installs the gas or electrical work and whether those trades are licensed and named in the contract. Ask how a feature will be maintained, since moving water and open flame both need care. The builders below state water or fire feature work on their own websites. As with any pool job, confirm the builder's license at cslb.ca.gov, get itemized bids and keep every change in a signed written change order.
